C/AL Code support in Notepad++
Normally NAV object (.txt file) open as
plain text in Notepad++ without no keyword highlighting as below. Which
completely different from our native Developer Environment thus this editor is
not friendly for code readability.
But
with importing a user defined C/AL language or UDL file in Notepad++, C/AL
codes can be supported as other build-in support languages like Java or C#.
Same file opened in Notepad++ after importing the UDL file. Now keywords are
highlighted in multiple colours which is customizable.
To import this UDL file follow these steps:
1.
Open Notepad++. Select Define your language… from Language
menu.
2.
In User Defined language window, click Import and select the attached
(CAL UDL v2.6.xml) file.

THANK YOU! VERY HELPFUL!
ReplyDeleteHi there! Thank you so much for creating this, it's great and of course useful!
ReplyDeleteI have just a question: is there a way to avoid considering an apostrophe ( ' ) as the start of a comment when present in a caption? In some languages you could find the apostrophe more often than english and that can hinder the visualization of, for example, all the fields that follows one with an apostrophe in its caption.
Anyway, thank you again, I really do appreciate what you did.
Have a nice day!
